This November, Kietiene Art Projects presented ReCrafted: The Upcycled Jewellery Story, an exhibition highlighting the transformative power of sustainable design. Part of the official NYCJW25 programme, it explored how contemporary makers reimagined forgotten materials, bringing together heritage craftsmanship and forward-thinking creativity.
Opening on 17th November 2025, the exhibition featured seven contemporary jewellery designers, each presenting meticulously crafted pieces. These works honoured the stories held within the materials, blending history with innovation to reveal the creative potential of reimagined treasures.
ReCrafted showcased upcycling as more than an environmental necessity, positioning it as a design philosophy rooted in storytelling and respect for heritage. The exhibition invited visitors to discover how today’s most visionary designers are redefining the future of luxury, transforming discarded objects into meaningful works of wearable art.
ReCrafted proved to be a remarkable success, drawing a highly engaged audience of collectors, journalists, curators and jewellery enthusiasts throughout its three-day run. Visitors praised the clarity of the curatorial narrative, the exceptional craftsmanship on display and the originality of the designers’ approaches. The overwhelmingly positive feedback affirmed the exhibition’s relevance within contemporary jewellery discourse and its strong resonance at NYCJW25.
